Now, you can go the old-fashioned route and get a notebook. That is always an option, but it is not the most efficient or the most convenient by a long shot. And, as your business grows, it will become flat out impossible for you to keep up with a pen and paper. So, you might as well invest in some software that will help you automate the process.
One thing you are looking for is software that will integrate with the sites you are selling on. If the software is well designed, it should not be something that requires a separate process. It should contain as many ways to automate the various processes so that there are fewer “clicks” that you have to make. Remember, time is money! Make sure they offer Amazon inventory management if you sell on Amazon, eBay inventory management if you sell on eBay, both if you sell on both, etc.
The better programs out there will also integrate performance charts into the software, giving you a better idea about the overall health of your business. Make sure it is also able to track the demand for your type of item across all the sites you use.
Overall, you should think about this in terms of time saved and money made. Saving time frees you up to do other things, and thus results in…more money!
